About The Artist
Robert Wren Smith has been drawing most of his life and painting in watercolor for about 20 years. He has studied with nationally known artists and attended Cincinnati Art Academy, Marietta College, and West Virginia University at Parkersburg. His work has been shown throughout the state. Smith has won many awards, including Best of Show at the West Virginia Oil and Gas Festival, First place award at the Regional Exhibit, Merit Award Regional 1991, Merit Award and Best of Show Aqueius Exhibit of the West Virginia Watercolor Society for 1995, Best of Show and Purchase Award at the 1998099 Impressionist Exhibit at Townhouse Gallery. Smith is a member of Ohio Valley Artists and West Virginia Watercolor Society. He is a retired packaging engineer from Corning, Inc. and resides with his wife, who was President of the Junior League of Parkersburg from 1991-92, and two daughters in Vienna, West Virginia.
